The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development constitutes a paradigm shift. It requires understanding and articulating a narrative around the meaning and value of sustainable development, how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) interrelate across various sectors, and what it will take to achieve them.

 

Fundamentally, achieving the SDGs requires the active involvement of all stakeholders: the United Nations system, national, regional, and local governments, the private sector, civil society, academia and people at large. Success depends on pursuing a whole-of-government and whole-of-society vision with an eye to meeting the high ambitions and challenges of the goals.
