.Although gender-based violence (GBV)11 is present to varying degrees across all societies, it can be particularly prevalent in crisis-affected contexts and has serious implications for sustainable and inclusive recovery processes. Factors such as displacement, high levels of violence and militarization and the breakdown of social networks and infrastructure can leave people more vulnerable to GBV in public and private spaces, with women and girls being particularly subject to this form of violence. |
