UNDP has produced a regional study «Where are the women? A Study of Women, Politics, Parliaments and Equality in the CARICOM Countries,» a study conducted between 2013 and 2014 and explores the presence of women in decision making position in the countries of the Caribbean Community, and the link between the presence in politics and institutions (descriptive representation) and the progress made in gender equality issues (substantive representation).
Included in this study, three case studies of Guyana, Jamaica and Suriname, which enabled a deeper analysis and sheds additional data to the regional study was developed. Here we present the study of Suriname. |
