The year 2020, which marked the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, was destined to be a key year for gender equality and women’s empowerment. In Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), the year began with the celebration of the XIV Regional Conference on Women co-organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and UN Women following the theme Autonomy of Women in Changing Economic Scenarios. At the conference, the governments of the region adopted the Santiago Commitment as a roadmap towards a regional agenda that prioritizes Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. Autoría:
