When a woman is a victim of violence, the negative impacts are not only felt by her alone. This problem is an obstacle in the way of the social and economic development of their families, their communities and society as a whole. This report, done for the first time in Peru, gathers data at a district level to quantify the costs of violence and showcases why violence prevention measures based on the rights of women and girls are vital to erradicate this problem and strengthen the leadership role they play in their own lives.
